Pupils accessing the Hair, Beauty & Make-Up Artistry (MUA) programme here at The Aspire Academy will work with our specialist tutor Samantha Arrowsmith who has 20 years of experience within the hairdressing, beauty, holisitic and make-up industry.
Pupils will work towards the BTEC Level 1 Introductory Award in Hair & Beauty.
What does the qualification cover?
The qualification is designed for pupils wishing to gain an introduction to a chosen vocation area, the qualification offers a basic introduction to the hair and beauty sector.
How many units are required to complete it?
To achieve the BTEC Level 1 Introductory Award in Hair & Beauty pupils must achieve two units.
- Developing a Personal Progression Plan
- Carrying out a treatment
How is it assessed?
Assessment is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification and all units are internally assessed – giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. There is a range of assessment styles suited to skills- and sector-based qualifications at this level. All units are graded to encourage skills development and performance
In addition to improving their skills and techniques in Hairdressing, Beauty, Make-up and Nail care, our pupils will also achieve a range of AQA Unit Awards (see details also below).
