Gatsby Benchmark 8 : Personal guidance
Every pupil has the opportunity to access a guidance meeting with a careers adviser, who is trained at L6 or L7 in a career development qualification. These meetings are available for all pupils whenever significant study or career choices are being made and should be scheduled to meet their individual needs. The careers leader works closely with the careers adviser, SEND co-ordinator (SENDCO) and other key staff to ensure personal guidance is effective and embedded in the careers programme.
Here at The Aspire Academy our pupils can access their personal careers guidance via three different routes….
- Arranging a personal guidance meeting with Joseph King, our Parallel Pathways Tutor and who is also our in-house ‘careers adviser’.
2. For Yr11 pupils: arranging a personal guidance meeting with Claire White, the Worcestershire SENDIASS Careers Adviser who is here in school for 3x full days across this academic year.
- Wednesday 19th November 2025, 9:00am – 2:00pm
- Wednesday 4th February 2026, 9:00am – 2:00pm
- Wednesday 4th March 2026, 9:00am – 2:00pm
3. For Dual-registered pupils: arranging a meeting here in school to meet with their ‘home school’ Careers Adviser – arranged between the careers lead and the home school.
