- I’m always contacted if needed
- The teachers are so nice and relaxed, my son is slowly opening up to some teachers and doesn’t feel judged
- I think their support towards the children (my daughter) is outstanding
- They build good relationships with their students
- Well informed on pupils progress and daily issues

Thank you from The Basement Project…
As part of our ‘Food Donations’ to our pupil families ahead of Christmas, we also made a food donation to The Basement Project – an independent local charity that helps young people under 25 with any issues or problems they are experiencing. The Basement is a safe, secure environment and offers some stability and guidance to young people.
On returning to school this week we received this heart-felt thankyou from Kelly Turner, Community Fundraiser….
“I am writing on behalf of The Basement Project, to thank the pupils, parents and staff of The Aspire Academy for your food donation before Christmas. We are very reliant on the generosity of the local community to support our clients throughout the year and therefore very much appreciate you thinking of our charity”.
Parent Voice Feedback
At The Aspire Academy, we truly value and appreciate the feedback we receive from parents, as it plays a crucial role in helping us continually improve our SEND provision. We understand that your insights are invaluable in ensuring that we meet the needs of every child, and we are always eager to hear your thoughts on how we can enhance the support we offer.
Here is a summary of the feedback gathered from the Parent Voice surveys conducted during the Autumn Term 2024 and Summer Term 2024. These surveys provide us with key insights into how our SEND provision is impacting students and their families, highlighting areas of strength as well as areas for potential improvement.
We take all feedback seriously and are already making plans to address the areas highlighted by parents. This includes reviewing how we communicate SEND provision in the classroom and with parents. Thank you again for your continued support and feedback – it is essential in helping us provide the best education and support for all our pupils.

After delivering the Virtual Decisions: Knife Crime virtually reality sessions in school, Katy Rooke, Creative Facilitator from Virtual Decisions, shared this positve feedback from the day…
“It was our pleasure to come and work with your young people and it is so encouraging to hear they enjoyed the experience!
Having delivered the programme into many schools and worked in alternative provisions and PRU’s, I would like to give feedback on how exceptional the participants conducted themselves. They showed us respect and engaged and involved themselves in the conversations, which was wonderful. I would also like to thank you and your staff for such a warm welcome, it is visible how invested you all are in Aspire, the positive relationships that have been built with the young people was so refreshing to see. We loved being part of your celebration assembly at the end of the day too; what a fabulous idea!

After attending the Motor Industry Spotlight Day at the National STEM Learning Centre in York in October 2024, Mr Witcomb, our Head of Science & STEM, received this positive feedback from Adam Sirett, Co-Founder of Espire Education…
“Both James and I found it so inspiring to speak with the pupils from The Aspire Academy. They seemed so passionate about building up their Kart. They appear to be fully committed to the project and asked some technical questions which indicated they really knew what they were doing”.
At the end of Summer 1 Term, May ’24, Mrs Windsor-Peplow, our Head of KS3, received this positive feedback from a Yr7 parent, after her daughters first couple of weeks with us at Aspire, since joining our school roll in mid-May…
“Thank you to you and all the teachers/staff at Aspire as it’s so good to see my daughter attending school again. She’s loving lessons, she also likes how she knows there will be more understanding if she’s feeling overwhelmed or anxious. She actually told me she knows she’s been listened too and if she has a problem school will do something to help sort it out. She has confidence in staff which is good to see and I’m genuinely pleased”.

She has always been punctual, smartly presented and very polite. She has expressed an interest in starting an apprenticeship with us when she leaves school, and I would be more than happy to look into this for her”.
