What does the qualification cover?

This qualification has been designed to help learners understand aspects of the construction industry and to cover some of the knowledge and practical skills required to work successfully within it.

The Certificate is the size of one GCSE and will count towards the Progress 8  and Attainment 8 indicators.

How many credits are required to complete it?
To achieve the Pearson BTEC Level 1 Certificate in Construction (QCF), learners must achieve a minimum of 13 credits.
A minimum of 8 credits must be achieved from Unit Group 1:

Developing Carpentry Skills
Developing Construction Decorating Skills
Developing Construction Drawing Skills
Developing Construction Painting Skills
Developing Electrical Installation Skills

Assessment is via coursework completion.
The Award is graded Pass/Fail
What related qualifications can you progress to?
Students who complete this qualification may progress to Level 2 Construction qualifications or use their acquired transferable skills to progress to other vocational related sectors.
